Mold Spores
Mold hyphae wrapped around a nylon carpet fiber with an aerial projection. The mold is growing on nurtients from the dust, *not* the carpet fiber itself. The most likely nutrient for the mold to consume contained in the dust is human skin scales. IMAGE COPYRIGHT JEFFREY C. MAY, 1995.
